REM is a series of concerts that presents a wide spectrum of media music and related art. For aficionados it offers rare musical treasures, and for those less knowledgeable it offers a pleasant opportunity to plunge into the depths—or shallows—of electronic music and become acquainted with its protagonists.
REM has organized more than fifty concerts in the past, in part at different locations. Since early 2007, the Teerhof has been its new, permanent home ground. The venue alternates between the Gesellschaft für Aktuelle Kunst and the Weserburg. As a rule, the concerts take place on the last Thursday of the month.
The concert series is a collaboration between the projektgruppe neue musik bremen and the Gesellschaft für Aktuelle Kunst. It is funded by the Senator of Culture of the Free Hanseatic City of Bremen and the Karin and Uwe Hollweg Foundation.

Tom Smith (Begründer des internationalen Noisemusik-Kollektivs
To Live and Shave in L.A.) schreibt die Texte und singt.
Pit Noack bedient 10 Cassettenrecorder. Ausgehend von
Smith's Texten komponiert Noack Abfolgen von Klangclustern
und -fragmenten, die auf Gruppen von Cassetten aufgenommen
werden. Während der Live-Performance werden die Cassetten
den Partituren der jeweiligen Stücke entsprechend gewechselt.

spricht über die -, zeigt Filme von der -, gibt Musik zu Gehör
von der TÖDLICHEN DORIS
Die Band Die Tödliche Doris existierte von 1980 bis 1987.
Sie stellte sich Zeit ihrer Existenz die Frage: Kann man
etwas mit Klang und Geräusch machen, was keine Musik ist?
Auch das Konzept Band wurde stetig hinterfragt. Auf jede
registrierte Festlegung reagierte Die Tödliche Doris mit der
Frage nach weiteren, anderen Möglichkeiten, gleichzeitig
trug sie ihre Vorstellungen in die unterschiedlichsten
künstlerischen Medien und philosophierte dabei mit deren
vermuteten oder behaupteten Identität.
Wolfgang Müller, Gründungsmitglied von Doris stellt
die Künstler-Gruppe in einem abendfüllenden Vortrag
mit Klang- und Bildbeispielen vor.
