Our Art Education staff cordially invites you to visit the Weserburg. Our events are geared toward everyone—whether young, old, knowledgeable, or (ostensibly) unknowing—and we welcome your participation.
Our wide-ranging offer of education formats is not aimed at merely explaining art, rather it is open for suggestions from the group that do not demand a “right” answer. But ask the necessary questions. Within the scope of the educational program, the opportunity arises to think about things and mysteries related to perception and art that do not normally come up in the classroom or in everyday life or which mostly remain unchallenged or unnoticed due to our habits and the constraints of our environment.
Everyone is sure to find the right format in our wide spectrum of art education offers.
Get to know art from a different point of view. Our trained staff members would take pleasure in guiding you through the museum’s exhibitions and collections, by request on special themes, both in the evening and on the weekend. Guided tours are offered every Thursday at 6:00 p.m. and every Sunday at 11:30 a.m. Special guided tours through select exhibitions are occasionally offered, complementing our educational program. We look forward to your visit! [more]
One of the Weserburg’s special concerns is enabling children and young people to become familiar with art in a playful way. There is a fascinating program — from children’s birthday parties to Sunday family outings — especially for the small art lover, but also for the whole family. [More]
The Weserburg offers a multifaceted art education program for students in all grades. Students can become familiar with the museum in guided tours, discussions, and during creative activities. They can directly experience the world of art in all its diversity with curiosity and enjoyment. They will time and again encounter new challenges that require that they open themselves up to new insights and arguments, endure irritations and live with temporary answers, or think independently. This also provides an opportunity to develop a relationship of respect with one’s partner in dialogue from a completely different perspective than from the classroom. [More]
You want to learn more about contemporary art? You are looking for a place to meet like-minded people for discussions? Perhaps you would like to create more space for your own creative energy and try out artistic techniques with a professional instructor? The Weserburg has collaborated for many years with experienced art historians, art educators, and artists who conduct workshops and seminars on various themes. [More]
For us, indulging in art and culinary delights belong together! The Café Schilling in the museum’s foyer invites you to come in for a cup of espresso. And the Restaurant Selen's caters to your physical well-being. With its first-class and creative cuisine, you are invited to have lunch, a cup of coffee and a piece of cake, and, of course, dinner. You will find a wide selection of art books, illustrated books, and postcards in our bookstore. Should you be unable to find a special catalogue, perhaps you will discover it in our well-assorted museum library. It contains a comprehensive supply of exhibition catalogues, artist’s monograms, and art magazines. [More]
