Art's Birthday

Ein Fest für die Radiokunst

We celebrated the 1.000.050th birthday of art! The Research Centre for Artists’ Publications organised an informal radio show with performances by fluxus artist Willem de Ridder, radio art duo Mobile Radio and students and staff from the research centre. The evening was moderated by the radio journalist Regine Beyer. Part of the evening was be broadcast live via satellite to the participating radio stations of the Ars Acustica group of the European Broadcasting Union (EBU).
1963 the French artist Robert Filliou proposed to celebrate art’s birth and art‘s presence in our lives. He suggested that art was born on 17th January (his own birthday) – one million years ago.  http://www.artsbirthday.net/

We celebrated our first Art's Birthday Party on the occasion of the exhibition „Über das Radio hinaus – 25 Jahre Kunstradio-Radiokunst“ (Beyond Radio – 25 years of Kunstradio-Radiokunst; until  28.04.2013).
