The Weserburg is located between the two arms of the Weser on a holm, the so-called Teerhof. It takes only several minutes to walk from downtown Bremen through the historical Old Town to the museum.

The museum is closed on Good Friday, Labor Day, Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve, and New Year’s Day

Admission tickets for the Weserburg may be purchased at the museum desk, at all Nordwest ticket agencies, or online at the Nordwest-Ticket-Webshop

Guided public tour 3 Euro plus admission  
Guided group tours 80 Euro plus admission (The number of participants is limited to 25.)
Guided tour for students 40 Euro per hour
Free admission: Members of the Friends of the Museum, children six and under
Reduced admission: children younger than 18 years of age, college students, soldiers, people performing alternative service, the unemployed, the severely disabled 

Combination Ticket

In cooperation with the GAK | Gesellschaft für Aktuelle Kunst, the Weserburg offers a reasonably priced combination ticket. The two institutions are housed in the same building. Recent developments in contemporary art have been presented here in alternating exhibitions since 1980. Additional information is available at

Barrier-Free Access

Almost all museum's exhibition areas are accessible to people with walking disabilities. Disabled parking is available on the forecourt. If required, a wheelchair can be borrowed at the cash desk. There is a bathroom with wheelchair access in the building.


Free admission for children and adolescents

From January 2018, the Sparkasse Bremen will allow all children and adolescents up to the age of 18 free admission to the Weserburg.
